This week marks the fourth since beginning classes at Seton Hill. Although it has been an absolute whirlwind, I feel empowered to be part of something so beautiful. I find peace day to day, whether it’s discovering a new spot on campus or simply passing a friend in the hall.
Speaking of friends, I’ve spent so much time with Mylee and Shay, and I’ve also met some incredible new people. Over these past few special weeks, I’ve joined the Women’s Bible Club (Delight), which has truly been a blessing. Delight has quickly become one of the most meaningful student organizations I’ve had the opportunity to join.
The week after classes started, Delight held its annual Kickoff event. I’m so grateful Mylee encouraged me to go. That night, I reconnected with friends I already knew and met so many new ones. There was laughter, prayer, and even some sweet treats! I had such a great time meeting new faces.

Mylee is very structured in her Christianity, and I never get tired of hearing her talk about scripture and teachings. After many years, I’ve finally decided to pick up the Holy Bible again and have begun reading and reflecting on different parts of it. It’s been an incredible journey, something that’s reminding me of my deep roots. Knowing that God is always with us has taken on such a special meaning for me.
Every week, our group meets in Campus Ministry for our time together. One of my favorite parts is the first 15 minutes when we all just chat about our week and keep things real. During the first meeting, we opened in prayer and began discussing the first chapter of our book, Everything I Need, which focuses on the “I Am” statements of Jesus. Each week, we have meaningful conversations about what those statements mean to us personally.
During one group session, I had the chance to share what was on my heart, and it was exactly what I needed. Sometimes, all it takes is someone to listen. And what better support than expressing yourself among girls your age, who are walking through similar life experiences and faith journeys? I truly believe it’s so important for women to know they aren’t alone, that their feelings, emotions, and hardships are shared by others.
Delight also included some worship songs, which, of course, are always a favorite of mine!
So here’s my heartfelt advice for any college student: get involved. I never expected to feel so loved within just a few short weeks of being here. The friendships and opportunities that have already come my way feel like more than I could’ve imagined. It’s been such a blessing, and I know God is protecting me every step of the way.
Seton Hill has already brought me so much happiness in such a short time. I truly feel like the most grateful girl in the world, and I’m always happy to chat with anyone who needs a friend.
Latte love,
Jill
