I have been completely humbled this semester. After weeks of studying, frying my brain, and taking many assessments, spring break has finally arrived. After a long first half of the semester, I am officially back in my own bed. But before we fully indulge in this break, I want to reflect on this crazy month and the many memories that were made.
My first birthday celebration happened midway through the month when one of my roommates, Sofia, and I hosted a small get-together with some college friends. We had such a fun night playing games,cSong Quiz, Imposter, eating cookie cake, and trying the new raspberry Mountain Dew. We took tons of photos, laughed nonstop, and simply enjoyed being together. I was especially grateful that my friend Emily joined us for the evening.
Later that week, my sweet friend Shay and I went to 7 Brew, a drive-thru coffee shop, to grab some fun birthday drinks. I ordered an iced caramel latte with cold foam, and she chose some sort of tropical refresher. It’s funny how I can always tie coffee into my daily life. Afterward, we grabbed lunch, and she dropped me back off at my “dungeon” at Seton Hill.
The night before my birthday fell on a Monday, so my lovely pack of friends and I went to Texas Roadhouse to celebrate while I was still on campus. I was joined by Jasmine, Emme, Gabby, Gianna, Rylie, Morgan, Halie, and Emma. I ordered a coconut mocktail and had the best time. I felt so appreciated and loved being surrounded by such amazing friends.
The next morning, on my actual birthday, Halie and Morgan surprised me with a sweet Aroma Joe’s energy drink that was absolutely delicious and started my day off perfectly. Soon after, my mom picked me up, with my dog, Millie, and we headed home. After curling my hair and putting on a cute little dress, we went into the city with my grandma and my “buddy” (aka my mom’s boyfriend), Brian.
We had dinner at Ruth’s Chris Steak House, where I enjoyed a phenomenal steak and a beautiful birthday dessert. Then came the best birthday gift of all, my mom and Brian helped me pick out a car! Brian even helped choose her name. I officially named my car Trixie the Chevy Trax!
My mom and I ended the night by seeing Beauty & The Beast at the Benedum in Pittsburgh. It was truly one of the best shows I’ve seen there. Everything fell perfectly into place, and I couldn’t have asked for a more special day.
I love February, from birthdays to making the sweetest memories. I’m constantly reminded that I have a village behind me that somehow makes every occasion feel magical. Love really does make everything better.
Latte Love,
Jill☕️
