My first year of college has officially come to a close. After many finals, moving out of my freshman dorm, and my mom and her boyfriend getting engaged, it was a whirlwind of emotions as the semester wrapped up. Though bittersweet, I am so happy to move back into my home and officially remodel my room. With the end of a difficult semester, I want to reflect on my hard work while also focusing on moving forward and celebrating the summer.
Last June, I had no idea what college life was like or how it could be hard, exciting, fun, and scary all in one big experience. I met so many friends during the year and especially became close to my friend Teresa in the last few weeks of classes. We studied, had lunch together, and played a lot of games on our laptops. I am so grateful for my dear friend and look forward to seeing her during the summer months.
June is usually a very special month in our family because on the 3rd, we celebrate my grandparents' anniversary. The foundation of our family truly blooms from the two of them, and it is so beautiful to see them year after year, growing in their love for one another. This year, we will be celebrating their 54th wedding anniversary. Spending time with them, along with our dog, Millie, is my favorite way to celebrate this season.
Speaking of marriage, it is official that my mom and her fiancé, Brian, are getting married next year. A few weeks ago, our family went to dinner, and Brian surprised my mom with a proposal. Nothing could really describe the moment, it was so incredibly special and emotional. I am so excited to help my mom plan her wedding and also celebrate her upcoming birthday.
I feel in total bloom this summer. Not only have I grown so much over the past year, but I have also been so lucky. Every new week is an opportunity for something beautiful, and this summer I am being productive in all aspects of my life, including posting more regularly on the blog! I am so ready to celebrate and finally get some rest after the school year, while preparing for what lies ahead. I am totally blooming this June. <3
